The Bandai Playdia was released exclusively in Japan. The Playdia mainly offered games and media for children and younger teens, as the software titles on the system was mainly composed of educational and entertainment titles, many based on Bandai intellectual properties such as Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball. It was also one of the first systems to include a wireless controller, though the controller was infrared based.
