The TurboDuo, known as PC Engine Duo in Japan, was the first video game system that utilised CDs. Unfortunately, the system became lost in the shuffles as the Genesis and Super Nintendo battled for market dominance. The NEC had a difficult time convincing gamers to purchase a TurboDuo instead of the Sega Genesis or the newly released Nintendo Super NES. By the end of 1993, support for the TurboDuo and disappeared. Japan, on the other hand, received the PC Engine Duo with enthusiasm.
