SG-1000 II
Developer: Sega
Year Released: 1984
Generation: 3rd
The SG-1000 II console was an updated version of the SG-1000. It was not a new system; internally it was identical to the original SG-1000. However, this remodelled version used gamepads instead of the original joysticks and had mounts to store them on each side. It also featured a slot, which allowed a keyboard attachment call SK-1100 and was compatible with the software from the Sega SC-3000 computer.
As the system failed to deliver any meaningful improvements for the Japanese public, the SG-1000 II like its predecessor, faced stiff competition from Nintendo’s Famicom and failed to garner much interest in Japan.
