The Super Cassette Vision was released in Japan as a follow up to Epoch’s previous efforts the Epoch Cassette Vision, and it was produced in Europe (primarily France) by ITMC under the name Yeno Super Cassette Vision. The Super Cassette Vision was unsuccessful in Japan due to the release of the Famicon the previous year, but managed to sell briefly in European markets before the Famicom hit the shelves in 1986. The Nintendo console quickly outsold the SCV and forced it off the market.
